Approach and anchoring

Enter the Aber-Wrac'h by the main buoyed channel from the Libenter cardinal and follow it up-river past Île Cézon. The approach off the marina is cluttered with moorings and fishing gear, so it is not one to attempt at night. Mud bottom with very good holding, around 30 m of chain is enough. The spot is tight, with room for only two or three boats, so anchor in the middle and allow for a full swing when the tide turns. The estuary gives shelter from every sector once inside, one of the most protected refuges on the north Finistère coast.

Practical

Land by dinghy at Port de Paluden upriver, where water is also available. Supermarkets in Lannilis are a 20-minute cycle inland. Mobile internet is weak here. Perroz mooring area lies 0.9 nm NW. L'Aber-Wrac'h marina sits 1.3 nm to the west with visitor pontoons, water, diesel and a harbourmaster on VHF 9.

Ashore

Coastal path along the aber toward the village of Paluden and the Paluden bridge upriver. Oyster beds visible along the banks at low water. Village of Lannilis 4 km inland for shops and market on Wednesday morning.
