Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south keeping clear of the rocky heads between the islets and the Punta di a Coscia. Work north towards the beach to find clean sand in 3 to 8 metres and avoid dropping onto rock. Shelter from NW, W and SW; open to the E grecale and to southerly swell. A swell from ferries and ships passing offshore on the north to south route sets the boat rolling day and night.

Practical

The zone around the islets, marked by yellow buoys, is closed to anchoring, swimming and paddling year round, and wardens patrol and issue fines. Landing on the islets is also prohibited from 1 March to 31 August to protect the breeding colony of Audouin's gulls. Macinaggio marina 1.4 NM S for water, fuel and supplies.

Ashore

The Sentier des Douaniers coastal path runs from Macinaggio to Centuri via Barcaggio, passing the Tour de Santa Maria Genoese watchtower 1.5 NM SW of the islets. Barcaggio beach 3 NM NW with grazing cattle on the dunes.
