Approach and anchoring

Approach near low water with the Bréhat chart to hand, as space is tight and the depth thin and keel boats cannot work far in. The archipelago is strewn with drying rocks and the tidal range exceeds 10 m on springs, so lay out chain generously. Holding is good in sand and mud but there are weed patches where the anchor can slip. Protection from W through N to NE, and it stays calm even in a fresh south-westerly. Exposed to easterly and southerly winds. The Vedettes de Bréhat pass close at high water.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. The harbour of Brehat at La Corderie or Port-Clos lies 0.8 nm NW for water and shops on the island. Port Adhoc is 3.9 nm SW on the mainland for fuel and full chandlery.

Ashore

Land by tender at the Cale de la Chambre just behind Logodec, or at Plage du Guerzido, to reach the island coastal path; free showers and toilets are available on Bréhat. The Paon lighthouse on the north tip and the Birlot tide mill make the classic walks. No cars on Bréhat, a single bakery, a grocery and a few cafés around Le Bourg.
