Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south. A swimming-zone buoy line fronts the beach with a marked channel through it for tenders. Bottom mixes sand and posidonia, so set the anchor on a clear sand patch in 5 to 7 metres, clear of the cordon, to avoid damaging the seagrass. Sheltered from NW through SE winds, fully exposed to the SW swell.

Practical

Anchoring is restricted along this stretch under the Var prefecture decree on posidonia protection. Nearest refuges are Cavalaire 2.7 nm NE and Le Lavandou 4.8 nm W.

Ashore

Domaine du Rayol botanical garden is about 500 m from the shoreline, run by the Conservatoire du Littoral, with Mediterranean-climate plant collections. A beach restaurant takes tenders and there is a small bar ashore. Shops lie about 1 km away. Coastal path links east to Cap Nègre and west to Pramousquier beach.
