Approach and anchoring

Open approach from the south on the Golfe de Saint-Tropez side. Pick up a buoy in the cove, where lines mark off the swimming area; there are clear sand patches to anchor on outside the field, but the bottom carries posidonia so choose the drop with care. Protected from N, NE and NW; exposed to the south and to easterly swell, which makes it rolly. Cavalaire harbour lies 2.9 nm east, Le Lavandou 4.7 nm west as fallbacks.

Practical

Seasonal ZMEL buoy field managed by the commune, typically in place from May to October. Many of the buoys are let for the season and are often full. A shore shuttle runs from 0930 to 1330 and 1530 to 1830, and the dinghy pontoon is reserved for boats on the buoys. No water or fuel on the field; nearest services at Cavalaire marina.

Ashore

Domaine du Rayol botanical garden rises directly above the cove, around 20 hectares of Mediterranean-climate plants run by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Sentier du littoral runs east along the shore towards Cap Nègre. Small grocery and bakery in Le Rayol village on the coast road.
