Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south and drop with care. The bottom is rock with patches of sand and posidonia; on a clear sand patch the holding is good, in about 8 to 10 m, with room for only two to four boats. Watch the drying rocks either side of the entrance and large underwater boulders that can foul the chain. Sheltered from NE, E, SE, S and SW, exposed to westerlies and the libeccio; it gives good lee when an easterly is blowing hard through the Bouches de Bonifacio.
Practical
No facilities in the cove. Porto Pollo lies 1.1 nm to the SE with a small marina, water, fuel and shops. Port of Propriano 6.2 nm SE is the main refuge in the gulf.
Ashore
A Genoese watchtower stands on the point above the cove, and a small sand beach lies at its head with a seasonal beach bar. The beach is almost cut off by land, so it stays quiet even in season.
