Approach and anchoring

Approach from the E staying clear of the rocks off Cap Camarat lighthouse to the N. A submarine pipeline crosses the bay, poorly marked by a single buoy, so keep clear of it when anchoring. Only part of the bay is open to anchoring; bring up on sand, avoiding the rock and weed patches, and check the anchor holds. A few mooring buoys off the small beach are reserved for small craft. Good shelter from NW through S winds; open to E and NE, and wash from the Pampelonne traffic and the beach restaurant's shuttle keeps it rolly by day, easing at night.

Practical

No services in the bay. Saint-Tropez lies 4.1 NM N and Port du Pilon 4 NM NW for berths, fuel and provisions.

Ashore

Long sandy beach with a couple of seasonal beach restaurants. Cap Camarat lighthouse, built in 1831 and standing 130 m above sea level, is reached by a coastal path from the north end of the beach. The sentier du littoral continues south toward Plage de l'Escalet and Cap Taillat, part of the Conservatoire du Littoral protected coastline.
