Approach and anchoring
The shoal is marked on the SHOM chart. The bottom is sand with posidonia patches, so pick clean sand, in about 7 to 9 metres. Shelter comes from the N, NE, NW and W under the lee of the coast; it is open to easterly and southerly swell, which often works in and rolls the boat even in calm weather, so leave on any forecast of east wind. Day boats leave by evening and it is often quiet overnight.
Practical
No services on site. Saint-Tropez harbour is 4.8 nm north with full marina services. Port du Pilon at Saint-Tropez lies 4.6 nm north for smaller tenders and annex landings.
Ashore
Anchor off the north end of Pampelonne beach for tender landing on the sand. Restaurants line the beach from Easter to October. The 35 km sentier du littoral follows the coast from Cap Camarat to Cavalaire.
