Approach and anchoring
Straight approach from the south-east, harbour entrance marked by red and green lights on the jetty heads. Depth 4 m in the entrance channel. Sheltered from the mistral by Cap Ferrat to the west. Report on VHF 9 and staff meet arrivals to take the lines. Anchoring is forbidden inside the Rade de Beaulieu.
Practical
719 berths including a visitor pontoon on the eastern quay. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol. Water, electricity, Wi-Fi and recently renovated showers and toilets. Some berths carry high-amperage sockets that may not fit a standard 32 A plug. Rates are reasonable for the Riviera. Chandler on the quay. A Super U and a bakery lie within 300 m in the town centre, along with the SNCF station.
Ashore
Villa Kerylos, a 1902 reconstruction of a 2nd-century BC Greek residence, on the Pointe des Fourmis 350 m from the harbour, open to visitors. Coastal path to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat takes 45 minutes on foot. Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and its nine gardens at 2 km on the Cap Ferrat isthmus.
History
Beaulieu grew as a winter resort from the 1880s when British aristocracy and Leopold II of Belgium built villas here. The harbour was enlarged in the 1970s to its present form.
