The bay opens to the south-east and the approach from the Atlantic runs among reefs: come in by daylight, with good light to read the coral, and an up-to-date chart. The bay lies within the classified site of Les Salines à la Baie des Anglais.
Practical
Beach for the dinghy. No buoys, pontoon, water or shops; supplies are in Sainte-Anne or Le Marin.
Ashore
The mangrove at the head of the bay holds abundant birdlife. The classified site, protected by a decree of 22 August 2013, covers 2,273 hectares from Pointe Dunkerque to Pointe Coton and includes the Atlantic beach of Anse Trabaud nearby.
