Main anchorage of Sainte-Anne, off the bourg at the southern entrance of the Cul-de-Sac du Marin. Sand bottom, sheltered from north through east to south-east.

Approach and anchoring

Open to the west and south-west. The prefectoral order of 12 October 2023 sets sixteen buoyed zones in the 300 m strip from Pointe Marin to Pointe Dunkerque: swimming areas, motor-free zones, a water-ski lane, access channels and two no-anchoring zones. Inside all of them speed is limited to 3 knots and anchoring is banned, so drop the hook outside the yellow buoys. The charted anchorage lies seaward of these zones. Marina du Marin is about 2 miles away.

Practical

Water and a dinghy pontoon in the bourg according to Navily. No buoys: anchor on sand, which gives good holding according to Navily users.

Ashore

The beach of Pointe Marin runs for more than a kilometre north of the anchorage towards Les Boucaniers. A hiking trail climbs to the Piton Crève-Coeur, near the ruins of the Crève-Coeur sugar estate. Sainte-Anne became a commune in its own right in 1837.
