Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Lorient main channel, leaving the Île Saint-Michel to the north. Shallow edges along the shore, drop the hook on sand in 2 to 4 metres at low water. The anchorage suits shallow-draught boats; deeper water lies off the Cité de la Voile, where the pontoon approach must be kept clear. Strong tidal stream in the roadstead on spring ebbs, up to 2 knots.
Practical
Forain anchorage without infrastructure. Fresh water available ashore. All marina services 0.2 NM east at Lorient La Base, including fuel, chandlery and travelhoist. Bus line C into Lorient centre from the Base stop.
