Approach and anchoring

Sand and posidonia bottom. Good holding on clean sand, poor on weed, so drop carefully in the bright patches in 6 to 10 metres; room is limited to a handful of boats. Shelter from the N, NE, E and NW, open to the south and south-west. Wash from boats passing offshore keeps the anchorage choppy by day and eases at dusk, when only a few boats stay overnight. Stay outside the marked swimming zone of the Fossettes beach in season.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Port de Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat 0.4 NM to the north-west and Port des Fourmis at Beaulieu 1.2 NM to the north cover fuel, water and berths.

Ashore

The Sentier du Littoral loops around the Cap Ferrat peninsula with access from the Fossettes beach. The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and its nine themed gardens sit on the ridge above the cove, 900 metres on foot. The village of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat has restaurants and a fishmonger around the old port.
