Basque coast: Capbreton, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye
11 places · Basque coast
A hundred kilometres of straight, shelterless coast between the Gironde and Capbreton, then three harbours in 30 miles: Capbreton and its canyon, Saint-Jean-de-Luz with a bay closed by three breakwaters and the Socoa anchorage, Hendaye on the Bidassoa, astride the border. Bay of Biscay swell closes the entrances of Capbreton and Saint-Jean-de-Luz several days a month, mostly from October to April.
