Guide
Approach and anchoring
The Wright River carries the ICW between Walls Cut to the north and Fields Cut, the dredged link to the Savannah River, to the south. The channel turns sharply through this reach. Tidal streams run hard, so time the passage and the swing at anchor.
Practical
Anchor over mud, holding generally good once the stream slacks. Banks are open salt marsh with no facilities on the river. Savannah Boathouse Marina lies around 3.3 miles to the south, Freeport Marina around 4.4 miles to the north-east.
