- Harbour
Marina on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, the main landing point for an island reached only by boat, with no road bridge to the mainland.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approached through the Cooper River off the Intracoastal Waterway. Floating pontoons with an approach depth of about 6 metres and 3.6 metres alongside. Around 110 slips with 7 set aside for visitors, taking vessels up to 30 metres.
Practical
Daily dockage runs at 10 USD per vessel, transient berths at 5 USD per linear foot per night. The marina store sells groceries and rents golf carts, the usual way to get around the island.
Ashore
The Old Daufuskie Crab Company restaurant and the Freeport General Store stand by the docks, with a playground alongside. Daufuskie Island has no bridge and almost no paved roads, so golf carts and bicycles serve for moving inland.
