Approach and anchoring
Entered from the East River into Flushing Bay, off the LaGuardia runways. Limited transient dockage is available for smaller recreational craft only, with no berths for larger or commercial vessels. Call the dockmaster on VHF 71 or 718-478-0480 before arrival.
Practical
Operated by the Marine Division of NYC Parks. A 1.4-mile promenade runs around Flushing Bay alongside the marina. Citi Field and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center are within walking distance, and the no. 7 subway serves Flushing-Mets stop nearby.
History
The marina was built for the 1939 New York World's Fair held in the adjacent park and was used again for the 1964 fair on the same grounds.
