Marina at Front Street Village on Taylor Creek, Beaufort, North Carolina, with wet slips for boats up to 30 metres and dry storage.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Beaufort sits behind the Front Street waterfront on Taylor Creek, reached from Beaufort Inlet via Bulkhead Channel, or from the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway through Gallants Channel under the 65 ft fixed bridge. Watch the marked channel against shoaling and the strong tidal stream running through the creek.
Practical
Wet slips for vessels up to 30 metres, dry storage to about 13 metres, and ValvTect diesel and petrol at the fuel berth. Pump-out, showers and heads, a fish cleaning station, and The Chandlery ship store. The 34 North restaurant and Beaufort Hotel adjoin the marina, with downtown shops a short walk away.
Ashore
Beaufort's historic district lies along Front Street within walking distance, with shops, restaurants and the North Carolina Maritime Museum about 1 km west. Rachel Carson Reserve, a salt-marsh estuary with wild horses, faces the waterfront across Taylor Creek.
