Reached from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway via Lemon Bay near Stump Pass, which opens onto the Gulf of Mexico. Stump Pass shifts with the sand and carries shoaling, so a fresh local sounding is worth checking before transiting.

Ashore
Stump Pass Beach State Park lies just across the pass, with a sand spit and a coastal trail. Englewood Beach on Manasota Key is about 5 km by road.
