Approach and anchoring

Entered from Jamaica Bay, which is reached from the Atlantic through Rockaway Inlet. Bay channels are marked and carry about 10 feet at low water. The marina lies off the Sommerville Basin area near Beach 72nd Street, behind the barrier beach.

Practical

Founded in 1975, the yard has around 110 berths for boats from 16 to 50 feet. Two travel lifts of 15 and 40 tonnes handle haul-out. Services include bottom painting, shrink-wrap winterisation and emergency hauls. A repair yard, not primarily a transient stop.
