Approach and anchoring
The marina lies in the sheltered water of Somerville Basin, off the main Jamaica Bay channels. The bay gives access to the Atlantic through Rockaway Inlet to the west.
Practical
Around 200 deep-water berths with water and shore power, transient berths, a 25-ton travel lift, restrooms and showers, and a bait and tackle shop. Winter storage and winterising are available. The site also runs kayak and paddleboard hire and has a bar. Two blocks from the A train at Beach 60th Street.
History
The waterfront here has served local Queens fishermen and boat owners as a working harbour since 1947.
