Approach and anchoring

On the South Channel of the St Clair River delta. Harsens Island is reached only by the Champion Auto Ferry from Algonac across the North Channel. Maximum vessel size 32 ft. Heavy freighter traffic on the main St Clair River shipping channel north of the island.

Practical

One transient berth, 30-amp shore power, heads. Hull and engine repair on site. Hauling, indoor and outdoor winter storage. Family-run yard operating since 1953. Phone 810-748-3011.

Ashore

St Clair Flats State Wildlife Area covers most of the island, the largest freshwater delta in North America. Marshes, waterfowl, and a network of small roads suited to cycling. Sans Souci hamlet within walking distance.
