Municipal harbour at the north end of Monterey Bay, built 1962 on the former Woods Lagoon site, with around 1,200 wet berths and 275 dry berths.

Approach and anchoring

Entrance between two rock jetties, marked by the Walton Lighthouse on the west jetty with a green light occulting every 4 seconds. The channel shoals year-round from littoral sand drift and is dredged between November and May. Hail Harbor Patrol on VHF 9 or 16 before entering to confirm depths and end-tie assignment.

Practical

Guest berths are assigned on a first-come basis at end-ties and designated docks, up to two weeks. Fresh water, 110 V shore power at 20 and 30 amps, showers, heads and a self-service 24 h pumpout. Fuel berth open daily with petrol and diesel, call attendant on VHF 9.

Ashore

Seabright State Beach borders the west jetty, less than 200 m from the harbour. Boardwalk and Municipal Wharf are about 1.5 km west along East Cliff Drive. The Santa Cruz Yacht Club sits at the north end of the marina and is open to visiting club members.
