Around 650 berths and tie-ups, maximum length 150 ft. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol, fresh water, ice and basic chandlery. Boatyard with hoist, sailmaker, tenant showers and laundry, and a four-lane launch ramp. Active commercial fishing fleet alongside.
Ashore
Moss Landing village, a row of antique shops and seafood restaurants, runs along the harbour. Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve trails start 3 km east, and the slough itself holds the largest sea otter population on Monterey Bay. History
Named after Charles Moss, who built a wharf here in the 1860s for shipping Salinas Valley produce and whale oil. The harbour was dredged into Elkhorn Slough in 1947, splitting the sand spit and creating the modern entrance.
