Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the harbour through the jettied channel off Highway 1, then bear into the north basin. Monterey Bay swells can build on the bar in a westerly, time the entry on slack water. The harbour master monitors VHF 9 and 16.
Practical
About 60 berths, mostly member moorings. Visiting yachts from reciprocating clubs by prior arrangement on 831-724-3875. Showers, laundry and a fuel berth on site. Public services and the wider Moss Landing harbour are 0,7 NM south.
Ashore
Sea otter rafts gather along the slough channel just behind the clubhouse, Moss Landing State Beach is a 10 min walk west, and Elkhorn Slough reserve trails start 1,5 km up the road.
History
Founded in 1946, the club built its mooring basin and clubhouse in 1951 on the north side of Moss Landing harbour, which had grown from a 19th century whaling and shipping station serving the Salinas Valley.
