Approach and anchoring
Reached from Long Island Sound through the Cos Cob Harbour entrance and into the lower Mianus River. The approach channel has shoaled below its authorised depth, so a mid-tide passage is advisable for deeper draught.
Practical
Private members club with berths and moorings, a launch service and an active racing and junior sailing programme. Visiting yachts should call ahead. Provisions and shops are within walking distance in Riverside.
History
Founded in 1888 by George I. Tyson, who gave the waterfront land and financed the first clubhouse, it is the second oldest yacht club in Connecticut. The Victorian clubhouse dates from 1889.
