Marina within King Harbor at Redondo Beach, on the Santa Monica Bay coast of California.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
King Harbor opens onto Santa Monica Bay behind a breakwater. The marina runs a public five-ton boat hoist that lifts craft up to 30 feet and 10,000 pounds, one of the few public hoists on the California coast.
Practical
The hoist operates daily except Christmas, with a slings operator on hand. A free seasonal hand launch for small craft runs April to October. Redondo Beach Pier with its shops and restaurants adjoins the marina.
Ashore
The Redondo Beach Pier, a horseshoe-shaped pier with food stalls and restaurants, sits right at the marina. The Esplanade walking and cycling path follows the clifftop south, and the sandy beach runs north towards King Harbor.
