Approach and anchoring
Mooring prohibited by prefectural decree, most likely to protect the Posidonia seagrass and the bathing zone of Île Rousse. Mixed sand and rock bottom. Route through to the authorised anchorage of Île Rousse 0.9 NM west or the marina of Port Eugène Ceccaldi 5.9 NM west.
Practical
No services. All amenities in Île Rousse: water, diesel, supermarket, bus and rail link to Calvi and Bastia.
Ashore
Île Rousse town founded by Pascal Paoli in 1765 as a republican counter to the Genoese port of Calvi. The red granite islets of La Pietra and its lighthouse mark the entrance to the bay. Bathing beaches of Bodri and Giunchetu within 3 km east.
