Approach and anchoring
Holding is in mud, with shelter from the north-west through west to south-west; the spot is open to the eastern half of the compass. There are no moorings, marinas or shoreside facilities for visitors on Prudence Island. Bristol Yacht Club and Bristol Marine lie 2.5 miles to the north-east.
Ashore
Around 60 percent of Prudence Island falls within the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which keeps walking trails across the island. The reserve has no shops or restaurants, so arrive fully provisioned.
History
Prudence Island is the third-largest island in Narragansett Bay and has no road link to the mainland; access otherwise is by ferry from Bristol.
