Approach and anchoring

Allen Harbor opens off Narragansett Bay and is well sheltered. The club sits on the southern side of the harbour, a short hop from Mill Creek Marine to the north.

Practical

The club has wet and dry berths for a range of boat sizes. The clubhouse holds a fitted kitchen, showers and heads.

Ashore

The Seabee Museum & Memorial Park stands at Davisville, on a five-acre wooded site with walking trails and the wartime story of the construction battalions.

History

The club was founded in 1966 for naval personnel and their associates. Davisville and Allen Harbor were the wartime home of the U.S. Navy Seabees: Camp Endicott trained more than 100,000 construction battalion men from 1942, and Allen Harbor served as a proving ground for the pontoon barges and floating docks used in amphibious landings.
