Anchorage in the rade de Brest on the south shore of the Elorn estuary, mixed sand, rock and weed, sheltered from NW to NE.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the rade de Brest through the Goulet, then head east toward the Elorn. Bottom is patchy with rock and kelp between sand pockets, so set the anchor carefully and check the hold. Strong tidal streams run in the main channel.
Practical
No facilities on site. Rostiviec pontoon is 2.8 NM NE and Moulin Mer 4.1 NM E for dinghy access to shops. Brest and the marina of Moulin Blanc lie further west in the rade.
