Approach and anchoring
Approach from the S or SE into the Gulf of Valinco. Pick up a mooring buoy, 31 buoys available. Sand bottom with posidonia patches. Sheltered from NW, N, NE and W winds. Exposed to the south and to the libeccio swell that enters the gulf from the SW. VHF channel 9.

Porto-Pollo village sits 0.1 nm to the SW with restaurants, a grocery and a dive centre. Filitosa prehistoric site with its menhir statues lies around 10 km inland by road.
History
Filitosa, inland from the gulf, is one of the main Bronze Age and Neolithic sites in Corsica, known for its carved granite menhirs dated to the second millennium BC.
