Approach and anchoring

Reached from the canal du Rhône à Sète, which crosses the town. Low fixed bridges on the canal limit air draught. No tidal constraint, but watch for commercial and hire barges on the waterway.

Practical

Pontoons along the canal in the town centre. Halt Palavas-les-Flots sits 0.3 NM west and Port On Land lies 0.5 NM west for additional berths. All shops, bakeries and restaurants within walking distance on both banks.

Ashore

Palavas beach runs along the seafront 500 m south of the canal. Phare de la Méditerranée, the former water tower converted into a panoramic restaurant, rises 45 m above the town. Étang du Méjean nature reserve, with flamingos, starts 2 km west.
