Approach and anchoring
Approach from seaward with no specific hazards. Sand holding in 3 to 6 metres. Shelter from north and north-west winds only. Untenable in tramontane gusts funnelling offshore or in southerly swell.
Practical
Forain anchorage off the beach. Port de Palavas-les-Flots at 0.3 NM to the north for berths, water, fuel and repairs. Port fluvial at 1 NM to the north-west through the entrance to the Lez river and the Canal du Rhône à Sète.
Ashore
Beach landing straight on the seafront promenade of Palavas. All shops, market and restaurants in the town centre within 300 metres. Carnon and the Étang de l'Or wetlands reachable by the coastal cycle route to the east.
