Approach and anchoring
Open roadstead with a sand bottom, no shelter from south and south-east sectors. The Gulf of Lion is known for sudden mistral and tramontane, which funnel down the Rhone valley with little warning.
Practical
No facilities on the beach. Port de Carnon lies 0.3 nm N with fuel, water and shops. LesCanalous base is 0.6 nm N. Use the anchorage for a lunch stop in settled weather only.
