Approach and anchoring
Enter the Laita from the south between the plateau de la Vieille and the training wall. Bar at the mouth dries at low water springs, cross on a rising tide with at least two hours of flood. Channel marked by lateral buoys to shift with the sands.
Practical
Forain anchorage in sand. Holding is reported as good on Navily. Exposed fetch is short due to the estuary geometry. Refuges at Guidel mooring field 0.6 nm S and port of Doelan 3.2 nm W if needed.
Ashore
The coastal path GR 34 runs along both banks of the Laita. Walk upriver to the forest of Carnoet, 30 minutes on foot, which contains the ruins of the medieval castle of Saint-Maurice. Beach of Le Pouldu at 1.5 km by the path.
