Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south clear of the offshore rocks. Mixed rock and sand bottom, so drop the anchor on a sand patch. Sheltered from N, NE and E winds, exposed to the southerly sector.
Practical
No moorings or services at the beach. Lomener harbour 2.7 NM to the SE and Guidel 3.4 NM to the NW for shelter.
Ashore
The beach takes its name from the former kaolin quarry above the cliffs, worked until the late 20th century. Coastal path GR 34 runs along the clifftop.
