Guide
Approach and anchoring
On the Marne between the locks of Cumieres downstream and Vraux upstream. Approach by the marked channel, mind the bridge piers when the river is high. Speed limit 10 km/h in the reach. Usual Marne navigation rules apply, VNF sector.
Practical
Short pontoon alongside, a handful of places for river cruisers. No permanent capitainerie. Bakery and grocery at Damery on the north bank within 500 m across the bridge.
Ashore
Eglise Notre-Dame de Damery, 12th century, 600 m across the bridge. Champagne growers open to tasting at Damery and Reuil, several houses within 1 km. Coteaux champenois vineyards on both banks, classed UNESCO world heritage since 2015.
