Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south or west with care for the rocky heads off the point. Sheltered from N, NE and E winds, open to the south-west and to the swell that builds off Quiberon bay. Holding is mixed, sand patches between rock, so check the anchor is set on sand and keep a lookout at low water springs.
Practical
No services. Port Aux Moines 0.7 NM south-east for a small drying harbour. Port de Saint-Jacques 2.4 NM east at Sarzeau for a fishing and yachting basin with a slipway and seasonal shops.
Ashore
GR 34 coastal path, the old customs officers' trail, runs along the cliff above the anchorage and links Saint-Jacques to Port Aux Moines and further to Penvins. The Rhuys peninsula closes the southern entrance of the Golfe du Morbihan.
