Approach and anchoring

Approach from the main channel of the Golfe, leaving the island of Govihan to starboard. Narrow buoyed channel with perches, dries on each side to sand and mud. Enter from half-flood upwards for boats over 1.5 metres draught. Strong cross-currents on the ebb, up to 4 knots at springs off the entrance. VHF channel 9.

Practical

155 berths on pontoons plus visitor moorings on buoys in the bay. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Harbourmaster open daily in season. No fuel at Le Logeo, nearest diesel at Port du Crouesty 9 nautical miles south. Bakery, bar and restaurant on the small quay. Supermarket at Le Tour du Parc 3 km by road.

Ashore

Coastal footpath GR34 starts from the harbour, a flat 4 km walk east to the Pointe de Penvins and its nineteenth century chapel Notre-Dame-de-la-Côte. Oyster beds of the Golfe visible at low water from the quay. Château de Suscinio, residence of the dukes of Brittany built from the thirteenth century, 6 km south by marked path.

History

Le Logeo, from the Breton loj meaning hut or shelter, was a small fishing and trading port documented from the sixteenth century. The current marina was built in 1978 by the commune of Sarzeau on the former drying basin used for lighters serving the Rhuys peninsula.
