Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south in settled weather. Sand takes the anchor well. The point gives cover from SW, W and NW winds. The mooring stays open to the E and SE, so the mistral pushes chop along the headland when it veers offshore.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Niolon harbour is 0.4 NM to the SW with a small quay, water and a diving base. Port des Corbières lies 1.6 NM to the NE with a larger marina, fuel and public transport to Marseille.
Ashore
The Côte Bleue sentier du littoral runs along the cliffs above the point, linking Niolon to Méjean in about 5 km. The marine park of the Côte Bleue covers the zone between Cap Couronne and the Estaque, with two no-take reserves near Carry-le-Rouet and Cap-Couronne.
