Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Golfe de Sagone. Sand holding. Shelter from N, NE, E and SE; the roadstead is fully exposed to the W and SW, where the libeccio builds heavy swell with little warning. Clear out for Sagone or Cargèse when the wind veers west.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no services. Sagone at 2.9 nm NW for water, fuel and a small village; Cargèse at 6.5 nm NW for a larger harbour with shops.
Ashore
Liamone estuary with a Natura 2000 designated wetland behind the beach, home to waders and migratory birds. Sagone village at 3 km by road with shops and restaurants. Ruins of the Sagone cathedral, a Pisan-era bishopric site, lie on the northern shore of the gulf.
