Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north-east through the Baie de Bourgneuf. Sand bottom, good holding. Sheltered from S, SW and W, exposed to the N and NE. Strong tidal streams on the ebb. VHF 72. Noirmoutier-en-l'Île harbour at 1.3 NM to the SW for refuge.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Dinghy landing on the beach. Estacade wooden pier with cafés and seasonal rental cabins on the foreshore.
Ashore
Bois de la Chaise oak forest directly behind the beach, marked loops of 2 to 5 km. Noirmoutier-en-l'Île town at 1.3 km with the 12th century château, salt marshes and the famous Passage du Gois causeway accessible at low water 10 km to the south.
