Approach and anchoring
Wide open entrance from the south-east. Anchor on sand north of the central rocky shoals, checking the set since patches of weed and rock are scattered across the bottom. Protected from E, SE and S, fully exposed to the libeccio from the west.
Practical
No services in the bay itself. Small harbour of Sant'Amanza 0.7 NM to the south-west, Bonifacio marina 3.5 NM to the south-west for full services, fuel and provisioning.
Ashore
Long sandy beach of Maora on the north shore of the gulf, backed by maquis. Windsurfing and kitesurfing spot when the libeccio blows. The Bouches de Bonifacio marine reserve starts south of the gulf, and the white limestone cliffs of Bonifacio are a short sail away.
