Approach and anchoring

Enter the Golfe de Santa Manza from the SE, leaving the Punta di u Capicciolu to port. Gurgazu lies at the head of the gulf on the northern side. The bay is open to the SE, through which the libeccio and sirocco drive a heavy swell. Holding on sand is good, avoid the rocky patches close inshore.

Practical

Forain anchorage, no services. A small beach and a seasonal restaurant ashore. Bonifacio is 3.2 NM to the SW for a full marina, water, fuel and customs. Shelter from W through SE, exposed to E and NE.

Ashore

The GR 20 southern terminus is at Conca, but the coastal path from Gurgazu leads west along the gulf toward the ruins of the Genoese tower of Santa Manza. The Bonifacio limestone cliffs and old town with the Bastion de l'Étendard and the Escalier du Roi d'Aragon lie a short taxi ride away.
