Approach and anchoring
Approach over the Fier d'Ars tidal flats, only at mid-tide or above given widespread drying banks. Sand bottom. Shelter from the north and east, open to the west and south-west. Nearest harbours are Port de Loix 2 NM to the south-east and the basin at Ars-en-Ré 2 NM to the south-west.
Practical
No services on site. Provisioning at Ars-en-Ré village, which is served by its tidal lock at Bassin de la Criée.
Ashore
Ars-en-Ré is classified among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, with the black and white spire of Saint-Étienne church as a landmark from sea. The Fier d'Ars is a Natura 2000 site for breeding avocets and black-tailed godwits. Salt marshes produce the fleur de sel de l'Île de Ré under IGP since 2014.
