Sand anchorage off the village of Lomener on the Ploemeur coast, west of Lorient in south Brittany.

Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, leaving the Ile aux Souris and its reef on the port side when coming from the Lorient channel. Sand bottom with good holding. Shelter from NW, N, NE, W and E; fully open to the southern sector where the Atlantic swell enters on SW gales. Tidal range about 5 m in springs.
Practical
Small fishing and mooring harbour of Lomener 0.2 NM E with limited visitor space; Toulhars marina at Larmor-Plage 2.2 NM E with water, diesel and a full capitainerie.
Ashore
Sentier cotier GR 34 runs along the top of the cliffs, 2 km west to the Fort Bloque, a 1756 coastal redoubt on a tidal islet. Ile de Groix ferry from Lorient-Kernevel 3 NM east, 45 minute crossing.
