Approach and anchoring

Open bay, approach from the south in daylight. Drop anchor on sand in 3 to 5 metres clear of swimmer zones marked by yellow buoys from June to September. Exposed from the south and south-east, shelter from N, NE, W and E. The mistral funnels down the Rhone valley and can raise a short steep sea here.

Practical

Water point ashore at the fishing harbour of Carro 0.1 nm west. No fuel berth for visiting yachts. Port des Laurons 1.6 nm north-west for a sheltered overnight berth.

Ashore

Carro is a working fishing village, morning catch sold directly on the quay. The GR 51 coastal path runs west towards Cap Couronne lighthouse, about 3 km one way, and east along the Calanques de la Cote Bleue marine park. The Cote Bleue marine park, created in 1983, protects Posidonia meadows and no-take zones off Carry-le-Rouet and Niolon.
