Approach and anchoring
Approach from New York Slough at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. Browns Island lies opposite the entrance across the slough. No tidal lock, water available at all states of tide.
Practical
575 berths, 274 of them covered, for boats from 20 to 75 ft. Four fuel berths at Lowy Basin, diesel and petrol. Free public launch ramp and ADA kayak ramp. Convenience store, restaurant, laundry, showers, ice, fishing tackle, haul-out and repair on site. 60 trailer parking spaces. Address 51 E Marina Boulevard. Harbour master on 925 439 4958.
Ashore
Pittsburg Yacht Club at the marina park hosts the restaurant scene. Downtown Pittsburg shops and Old Town district at 700 m walk south. Browns Island Regional Shoreline trail across the slough, marsh habitat for shorebirds.
