Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom, shelter from SW only, open to all other sectors. The area sits close to the passes of Arcachon, where banks shift and tidal streams run hard: use up-to-date SHOM information and the latest pass tracing published by the Arcachon port authority. Port de La Teste lies 3.2 nm NE inside the bay.
Ashore
Dune du Pilat, highest coastal dune in Europe at around 100 m, rises directly behind the beach. Sentier and wooden stairway up to the ridge start from the car park behind the dune.
